:bulletblue: Someone trolling you – Block him/her/it
:bulletblue: Someone flaming you – Block him/her/it
:bulletblue: Eying pedo getting talkative – Block pedo
:bulletblue: Cyantre reactivated – Block him
:new::bulletblue: Wanna troll someone – Block him/her/it

Like many of you may not have realized yet, the block function has been updated. So basically what changed is that you can no longer reply to comments from someone who blocked you. Before a block was only from the mainpage thus unable to devWatch, note or comment on anything of that person’s. :paranoid:

At first I think it was some sort of bug I was experiencing, and was unable to reply upon being trolled on my own deviation, so I contacted the helpdesk. Here's their reply:

“Quite simply, blocking means blocking. You are not supposed to be able to interact with somebody who blocked you. :)

Yes, you can no longer reply to ANY comment from someone who blocked you. This mean they can come onto your page and troll/flame you and you cannot reply. How nice!!

So how is this an advantage?
They can no longer harass you and/or stalk you on other people’s page and reply to your comments there. Cool!! And… and… err… I guess that’s about it.

Any disadvantages?
Having someone say just about anything(ask professional trolls for possibly enraging/frustrating comments) on your own page without you being able to reply/defend yourself. But that’s still on since it’s your page/deviation-You can hide the comment. What If they go on someone else’s page and start slandering you? Too bad, you can’t reply.

Oh and to make things even better, they can reply to a comment you made anywhere, and slander/offend you even more, but you won’t be able to reply back. Now that’s sexy eh? :meow:

:bulletred: Personally I preferred the older block, it even suited the the word ‘block’ better. So you agree with me or not? Don’t forget to fave/reject this news article accordingly!:eager:

Yeah but by blocking them in return they can't harass you anywhere else for any reason.

Oh they can. That's the whole point. :icondoublefacepalmplz:

The only difference is that when they diss you, you won't be able to do anything back but just stare at the cool comment they left. :)

Maybe I read something wrong then...

So your saying that they can block you and harass you all they want, but even if you block them back to prevent any further harassment they can still get at you?

Why won't they be able to get at you on someone else's page? The issue is not them replying to your comments, it's just them commenting elsewhere saying this and that on you. But since they blocked you, you can't reply to their comment or anything.

But still, it's ok if you like it that way, I'm sure there are others who do too. :)

So much for not having a 100 block limit!

the update to the block feature makes me feel extremely vulnerable. especially since my only way of taking care of trolls is to defeat them in a war of the words.

Nay. It opens up a can of worms. They should do a double block where the two parties can't mess with each other. Plus, it's messing up the forums!
